Self-Discipline & Ritual

Here we are seated, awaiting receipt of our next successive belts in Tae Kwon Do, provided we have earned and achieved the requirements. It is a life-long practice with no real end goal. Along the way, we will learn methods of self-defense, stretching our bodies and minds to a greater potential. Part of the practice is the expression of respect to youngsters and the elderly alike. It is a dance, a chant and a ritual like no other, mindful of body space and directed by unwavering voice and a determined gaze.

Our View of the World

I considered why I love what I do, and it is all about the people whose lives we touch. It’s not just about the education, or the training, or even our own learning, but rather seeing the world through the lens of another, and watching them feel beautiful. Their countenance shows it. It is deriving pleasure from perceiving someone else’s pleasure that motivates me.
