Inspirations from the Maker Faire

It is vital to have a constant channel for creative inspiration. I find that as often as possible, when I can experience human nature through art, architecture, music, or an amalgamation of visions through an event such as The Maker Faire, I am transformed and transported.

It is as pragmatists that we communicate in a comprehensible manner. It is as dreamers that we captivate.

Summer Rayne Oakes & Duchess Marden Present to Teens Turning Green

ttgfinal2Teens Turning GreenOn a glorious sunny afternoon this past Saturday, Duchess Marden sponsored an event for Teens Turning Green/Teens for Safe Cosmetics with an awe-inspiring speech from Summer Rayne Oakes. She spoke about her career history, not only as a model on the fashion front, but as a model citizen with gumption. Her take away message: be steadfast in representing what you believe in. I was impressed to learn that she had turned away a six figure contract to represent a cosmetics company who refused to divulge their ingredients. She is earnest, and anything but opportunistic.
